Kagamimochi (beige) S size and base set.
From the mochi to the orange, it is all in one piece, to which a silk braided cord is tied with an auspicious awaji-knot.
The contrast between the matte and smooth texture of the clay and the gloss of the silk is beautiful.
The mochi portion is almost pure white with multiple layers of clay, and the base is finished with the bare clay showing in some places.
The orange part is also expressed by the color of the clay.
～ About the "Konayuki" series ~
The texture of pure white clay like snow attracted me and I started to make this series.
The shimmering form is created one by one by hand, and the white clay is piled up like snow piling up.
The outside of the piece is fired at high temperature without glaze.
The layers of white clay give the piece a quiet appearance of warmth in a clean white color.
