This is an objet d'art of the Japanese zodiac sign for the year 2024.
It was created with the image of an interesting dragon descending from the sky.
The pattern is created by scraping the base of each piece and then layering white clay on top of it.
The piece is decorated with silk braided cords as in the New Year.
～ About the "Koyuki" series
The texture of pure white clay like snow attracted me to this series, and I started working on it.
One by one, I create shimmering forms by hand, layering white clay as if snow were piling up.
The outside of the piece is fired at high temperature without glaze.
This piece has a quiet appearance that gives you a sense of the warmth of the clay in its clean white color.
